The hottest day in Blackpool this year was the 18th July and was an absolute scorcher reaching 29 degrees. The sun beat down mercilessly, sending temperatures soaring to record levels. People flocked to the beach, seeking refuge in the cool waters of the Irish Sea. The streets were deserted as residents and tourists alike sought shelter indoors, desperate to escape the oppressive heat.

Ice cream vans did a brisk trade, with queues snaking around the block as people clamored for a cold treat to help them cool down. Even the seagulls seemed to be feeling the heat, with many of them seeking shade under the pier or perched on rooftops with their beaks gaping open in an attempt to cool off.
Despite the discomfort of the sweltering heat, there was an undeniable sense of joy in the air. The sun brought with it a sense of freedom and carefree abandon, with people shedding their layers of clothing and basking in the warmth of the day. It was a day to be treasured and remembered, a rare glimpse of summer in a town famous for its unpredictable weather.
As the sun began to set and the day slowly cooled down, a sense of contentment settled over Blackpool. The hottest day of the year had been endured, and the residents of the town could rest easy knowing that they had weathered the storm.
